Warning Description: Severe Thunderstorm Warning
Warning Date: 1:10 PM EDT on June 9, 2011
WarningSum:...A Severe Thunderstorm Warning Remains In Effect Until 215 Pm Edt
For Extreme North Central Saratoga...Warren...Northern Washington...
Warning Message:extreme northwestern Bennington and central Hamilton counties...
At 108 PM EDT...National Weather Service Doppler radar continued to
indicate a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing Golf
Ball size hail...and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. These
storms were located along a line extending from Adirondack to Thurman
to West Canada Lakes...or along a line extending from 18 miles north
of Warrensburg to 7 miles west of Warrensburg to 12 miles west of
Speculator...moving east at 40 mph.
Severe thunderstorms will be near...
Piseco and riverbank by 115 PM EDT...
graphite...Rudeston...Thurman and North Bolton by 120 PM EDT...
Hague...Glenburnie...Indian Kettles and Rogers Rock campground by
125 PM EDT...
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
This is a dangerous storm. If you are in its path...prepare
immediately for damaging winds...destructive hail...and deadly cloud
to ground lightning. People outside should move to a shelter...
preferably inside a strong building but away from windows.
If on or near Lake George...get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember...lightning can strike out to 15 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder...you are
close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now.
Don't be caught on the water in a thunderstorm!

WarningSum:...There Is A Moderate Risk Of Severe Thunderstorms Across The
Area Today...
Warning Message:There is a moderate risk of severe thunderstorms today for all of
east central New York and adjacent western New England.
Thunderstorms have the potential to produce very large hail in
excess of two inches in diameter and damaging winds in excess of
58 mph.
Thunderstorms are expected to develop early this afternoon
ahead of a cold front...and will track east or southeast across
much if not all of the area through the rest of the afternoon into
the evening.
Be alert for rapidly changing conditions today as this hazardous
weather situation evolves.
